Nagendra Prasad was born as the elder of the 2 children that were born to the disciplined, down to earth couple Smt. Sharada and Sri. C.V.L Shastry on 3rd November 1959 in Bangalore.
With magnificent 59 years of meaningful life that started with childhood schooling at National Public School and subsequent Science Graduation at National College, Nagendra Prasad knew from the very beginning that hard work, commitment and determination would eventually turn him into a successful businessman and a humble human being.
With a sharp eye to finesse and perfection, Nagendra Prasad excelled in his professional career. With a mind that was set on a successful business empire, he took over as the Managing Director of SKYTOP BUILDERS and developed over 85000 residential plots in over 100 layouts in Bangalore and Mysore. He is currently developing a 18 hole Golf Course, with Club house and other sporting activities on a 140 acre land in Mysore . He continued his family’s legacy of film production with equal ease and comfort. He owes his success to his upbringing with very strong family values.
His mother Smt. Sharada Shastry who was the Inner Wheel Chairperson of RI Dist 319 in the year 1991-92 and father late Sri. C V L Shastry as an active member of Rotary Bangalore West were the great influence on him. With such a parental influence, it was but natural and easy for Nagendra Prasad to enter Rotary as a Rotaractor in 1978 as Charter Secretary of Rotaract Club of Bangalore West. He then served as Treasurer and subsequently the President of Rotaract West.

Rotary was the next calling. He joined Rotary Bangalore Peenya in the year 1984. With family and business pressure mounting in his prime years, Nagendra Prasad took a sabbatical from Rotary. Being very passionate about philanthropic activities, he joined Rotary Bangalore Sadashivanagar in 2008 as a charter member and became its President in the year 2011-12 and bagged the Star President & Outstanding President Award along with several other awards for the club.

Nagendra Prasad began his second innings in Rotary with more vibrancy and determination as he joined Rotary Bangalore Peenya in 2012. Since then there has been no looking back.He has served the District in various capacities, like Special Aide to District Governor, District Director for Water & Sanitation, Conference Chairman, Chairman for Multi District PETS at Sri Lanka, Chairman for District Awards Nite, Assistant Governor, Chairman for PETS & District Secretary.
His stint as Chairman for “Umang Tharang” District conference in Goa was the most colourful and memorable one which is talked about even today. PETS in Mysore in 2017 was another feather in his cap.
Nagendra Prasad has not only contributed his time and expertise to Rotary but has also become the member of Arch Klump Society by his contribution to the foundation of $2,50,000/- including an endowment of $25,000/-.
He has attended the Rotary International conventions in 2012 at Bangkok and Lisbon in 2015 and received Public Image Award from Rotary International President Mark Danial Maloney. In 1982, he has travelled the world through Youth Seminar on World Religion.
Apart from excelling in Rotary, Nagendra Prasad has a rich legacy of a Business career that has won him awards and accolades in various institutions. To name a few:
- Gold medal for providing low cost housing sites by Council for Industrial and Trade Development
- Bharathiya Nava Nirman Puraskar by All India Business Community Foundation.
- Indian Achievers Award for Real Estate and Infrastructure
- Entrepreneur of the year in 2015 by Bangalore Management Association
Nagendra Prasad is also active in many religious and sports organisations, important being his stint as The Vice President – Karnataka Table Tennis Association. Even in his busy schedule he finds time to nurture his hobbies in Cricket, Table Tennis and Photography. Nagendra Prasad has got unstinted support from his family with wife Meera Prasad being a Rotarian of Rotary Bangalore Peenya, their 2 daughters Pragna, an architect & Preksha, a Commerce graduate, both members of Rotaract Peenya and a son, Pranav Prasad. His brother Dr. Narendra Prasad and sister-in-law Janaki Prasad are also members of Rotary Bangalore Peenya.
